Ancient beech trees march up the shoulder of North Berwick Law, with the town of North Berwick and the sea far in the distance. These windswept trees were planted over three hundred years ago to commemorate the Act of Union between the Scottish and the English Parliaments in 1707.
Beeches are common in Scotland, but these are some of the oldest.
