scottish thistle 2<br>FLOW:1009

A striking purple Scottish thistle features in this original image photographed at Aberlady Nature Reserve, East Lothian.
There is a legend behind the use of this prickly flower as the Scottish emblem. In the thirteenth century an invading army led by King Haakon of Norway landed on the Scottish coast at Largs (Ayrshire) under cover of darkness but one barefoot soldier trod on a thistle, shouted out in pain and warned the Scots of their presence.
A perfect greeting card for birthdays, special occasions, or as a note card just to say hello.
The hand made cards are blank inside waiting for your special message.
